Dr. MamRash began his journey in surgery in July 2022 at Medical Help Hospital, where he worked as a doctor on duty in the surgical ward. It was here that he first crossed paths with Dr. Farman Noori, a highly skilled general surgeon known for his precise and gifted hands. Dr. Noori performed the majority of surgeries at the hospital, and Dr. MamRash was responsible for following up on these cases post-operatively.
In August 2022, during one of the routine patient rounds with Dr. Noori, Dr. MamRash expressed his strong interest in surgery. He conveyed a deep desire to observe how Dr. Noori managed patients, both in the clinic and during surgeries. Additionally, Dr. MamRash shared his rich background in marketing, video production, and graphic design, hoping to contribute these skills to the clinic’s growth. At that time, Dr. Noori’s workload consisted of an average of five surgeries per week, with a few bariatric sleeve gastrectomies.
Recognizing Dr. MamRash’s enthusiasm, Dr. Noori agreed to have him join the clinic. Dr. MamRash began by observing surgeries, immersing himself in the intricacies of general and bariatric surgery. Over the next month, he transitioned from observation to becoming an active participant, scrubbing in for surgeries. Eager to build his surgical knowledge, Dr. MamRash delved into studying general surgery, anatomy, and bariatric procedures.
In just a short time, Dr. MamRash became an indispensable part of Dr. Noori’s team. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he took charge of managing Dr. Noori’s social media presence. This combination of clinical assistance and marketing expertise led to a significant transformation in the practice. By March 2023, the number of surgeries increased from five to an impressive 42 per week. Dr. Noori’s growing reputation, largely in bariatric surgery, saw him become one of the most renowned surgeons in the region, with a high volume of sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass surgeries.
Dr. Noori played a pivotal role in mentoring Dr. MamRash, showing faith in his abilities and entrusting him with greater responsibilities. The duo attended numerous bariatric and general surgery courses and conferences, both within Iraq and abroad.
Over the past two years, Dr. MamRash has been involved in more than 1200 sleeve gastrectomy surgeries, 300 gastric bypass surgeries, 40 bariatric revision surgeries, and around 1000 other general surgical procedures. His experience under Dr. Noori’s guidance has been transformative, shaping him into a highly skilled surgeon with a passion for patient care and an innovative approach to growing a surgical practice.
